No fiber, No Minerals, No Vitamins – Just Empty Calories. Read on to learn about the dangers of sugar and the health benefits of consuming less of it.

Have you found yourself suffering from health problems lately? If so, then perhaps it’s time you begin consuming less sugar and start taking care in relation to what you eat. This is because while this sweet little stuff tastes heavenly, it can have some serious impact on your health. In fact, this sweet devil is linked to hundreds of medical problems including weakened eyesight, cancer, diabetes, hypoglycemia, premature aging, arthritis, asthma, and heart disease, just to name a few.

In order to lead a healthy life, you need to cut back on the sweet stuff! Say no – to Doughnuts, pancakes, cupcakes, energy drinks, biscuits, or anything high in sugar. Once you reduce the amount of sugar you eat, you will automatically notice a huge difference in your health. In fact, you will enjoy a range of health benefits.

Some of these include:

Better Weight Loss Results

People gain weight for a number of reasons, but consuming too much sugar definitely plays a major role towards the problem. Regardless, by lowering your sugar intake, you can help reduce your overall weight. This is because less sugar will result in fewer calories being consumed, thus boosting your weight loss efforts. The American Heart Association recommends that men consume no more than 150 calories and women no more than 100 calories per day from sugar.

No More Tooth Decay

Consuming too much sugar leads to two problems for your teeth: Cavities and Tooth Decay. It is well known that sugar is bad for your teeth and promotes tooth decay, because it affects the plaque or bacteria, which build up on teeth. To avoid developing cavities, it is imperative that you try consuming less sugar every day. However, it is important that along with reducing sugar intake, you brush and floss regularly, and rinse your mouth especially between meals to help limit tooth decay.

Healthier Heart

According to the Mayo Clinic, consuming too much sugar can increase the triglyceride levels (or fats) in your blood. Higher triglyceride levels are directly linked to boost the risk of heart disease, as it promotes high blood pressure. To help tackle high blood pressure and decrease the triglyceride levels in your blood, it is imperative that you consume less sugar. This way, you can reduce the risks of heart diseases and help build a healthier heart- which equals to a healthier you!

So, if you want to receive these benefits mentioned above, then perhaps it’s time to follow a low-sugar diet. Start eating plenty of healthy fats, low glycemic (sugar) fruits, and clean protein. But, don’t just focus on the diet. Make sure to get a good amount of exercise, drink lots of water, and get plenty of rest in order to break it all down.
